Today is the first day to begin celebrating Mi'kmaq History Month. Throughout this month there will be school displays, posters and class presentations to help enhance your cultural awareness. Also stay tuned to the daily question announced each morning and have your name placed into a weekly draw for some cool prizes. And stop by to say hi to our Indigenous Student Support Worker anytime.
A big should out to everyone who wore orange yesterday in recognition of the Indigenous students who attended the residential school. It was so appreciated. Thank you.
In recognition of Mi'kmaq History Month, three flags are on display outside the school - The M'i'kmaq Grand Council Flag to celebrate being here in Mi'kma'ki and also recognizing our Inuit and Metis brothers and sisters. And don't forget, today is Mi'kmaq Treaty Day....to learn more google Treaty Days.com
