GSA
The GSA will meet on Thursday at lunch in the YHC, Room 325. All students and interested staff are welcome.
Girls Volleyball
The Lady Kingfishers volleyball team pulled off their second win in a row last night against the PA Panthers, winning the match in a 3-0 sweep. Georgina Picco had a double-digit serving run in the third set, and Tanis Olsen took command of the court, each earning Player of the Game recognition. Come out and support the team on Thursday at 6:30 when they get a rematch against the Auburn Eagles for the last home game of the season!
Choir
There will be choir in the band room today and tomorrow at Lunch.
Concert Band
There will be Concert Band on Friday after school from 2:55 to 3:55.
Clay Club
Clay club has started at lunch in room 129 (Ms. West's art room). We will be meeting Tuesdays and Thurdays at lunch to make bowls for Hungry Bowls. Feel free to drop in.

Flu season is here. The flu vaccine is the best way to protect yourself against the flu & to help prevent its spread throughout the community. The flu vaccine is Free for all Nova Scotians 6 months & older. It is available at - Family Dr.'s office - Walk in Clinics - Pharmacies (given by pharmacist) - Community clinics Any questions or concerns ....Please drop in & chat with Lynda (YHC) in Room 325
Student Council
Halloween is approaching and we have a fun week planned! Wednesday is our costume contest, everyone wear your Halloween costumes! Thursday is our spirit day so let’s see some kingfisher pride! And Friday is dia de los Muertos, or day of the dead, so come dressed formally and get your face painted!
Mascot Showdown
Attention kingfishers, mascot showdown is approaching! On November 22 our mascots will be competing at Auburn High! For only $10 you can grab your ticket from Ms Mullane in room 111, you don’t want to miss out!


Scare Hunger
Did you know that 22% of children in Nova Scotia live in food insecure households. That is about 60 000 kids. SHS Me to We invites you to help scare hunger! Join us October 31st by going door to door collecting non-perishable food donations for the beacon house! All food donations are due to room 103 by 3pm Friday November 2nd

Parking passes
A reminder to all students; you must have a SHS parking pass to park on school grounds. The application form is on the web site. Please print and complete and submit to the main office for approval and to receive your parking sticker.
