Green Team
Green team presents the 12 days of Green-mas, You can see all 12 days upstairs by room 311. The sustainable holiday tips for the day are to, 1) During Christmas dinner, only serve what you will eat to help with food waste 2) Buy local foods and local trees to help your community.
Coffee House

Spirit Week
Listen up Kingfishers! Are you in the holiday spirit yet? Well get ready because next week is our holiday spirit week! Monday is flannel day to start us off, Tuesday is our International day where we will be celebrating the German holiday St Nicholas, wear your best boots and join the fun! Next up is Wonderful Wednesday so dress to impress on this formal day. Thursday is ugly sweater day and we are wrapping up the week with Festive Friday! Come down to the lobby every day at lunch to join in the festivities!

I am looking for any students who would be interested in signing Christmas cards that could be sent to nursing homes, where some residents may not even receive a card. I will buy the cards....all you need to do is write a short message inside that sends a kind and caring thought. Please come to the Youth Health Centre and let me know if you are interested.... we could do this early next week.
Thank you so much for your phenomenal response yesterday to the Therapy Dogs. It was heartwarming to see such an overwhelming positive impact on our students and staff. The facilitator of the Therapy Dogs was very impressed with how the students engaged so deeply with the dogs and commented a number of times on the respectful and polite behaviour of all the students who thanked them for coming to the school. Maybe we can bring them back during Mental Health Awareness week next spring.
Wrestling
Just a reminder that there will be wrestling practice today and tomorrow after school from 3:00 until 4:30 . If you would like to give it a try it is still not too late to join the team.

Attention, Attention!!! Anyone who loves spirit wear and loves a great deal should stop by the Kingfisher Corner Store before December 21st for a smokin’ deal on our new crew neck sweatshirts. Regularly priced at $25, they are now on sale for $20 until Christmas break. Let your parents know that spirit wear will also be on sale on the evening of parent/teacher interviews, Dec.17 from 6-8pm.

Health & Human Services
HHS 12 is holding a pancake breakfast on Tuesday, Dec 18, from 8:30-9:15. All you have to do is bring $2 or 2 cans of food to attend. All donations will go to support Feed Nova Scotia.
Concert Band
There will be Concert band on Friday after school from 3pm until 4pm

Rafiki bracelets will be selling in the lobby at lunch today tomorrow and Friday! Be sure to come out and get some stocking stuffers, only $10!
Campeche Leadership Camp
Congratulations to our very own Lauren Geizer who has a won a scholarship to the Nova Scotia International Students Program Campeche Leadership Camp. Now comes the fundraising. Help Lauren get to Mexico by stopping by and buying something from our Craft and Bake Sale table in the main lobby at lunch from Dec. 17th and Dec. 20th. Choir
Student and staff are invited to choir rehearsal this week to practice carols for next weeks Carol Sing. Come on down to the band room at 11:40 on Wednesday and Thursday to bring in the holiday cheer as we select our carols!
Grad Photos
The Grad Photo signup sheets are posted outside of Student Services. There will be two photographers per day. Please try to sign-up on your free period so as to cause the least disruption in your classes. There is a $10 sitting fee but if you are having your picture done for just the yearbook and wall composite it is free. Group photos will be done on the last day and there is a charge of $5 per person.
