Black History
Today’s black history month fact is about Anderson Ruffin Abbott, who became the first Canadian born black doctor in 1861, when he received a license to practice from the Medical Board of Upper Canada.
Boys Basketball
Congrats to boys’ basketball on their huge win last night over Prince Andrew 81-78. The team play tonight against Dartmouth High at 8:00 pm at Dartmouth. Top scorers were Garrett Malloy with 24, Nathan Mulligan with 13 and Dylan Brown hit 2 - 3 pointers for 8 pts

RUGBY SEASON is starting! Reminder to all boys and girls interested in playing rugby, our first practice will be Tuesday, February 12th after school at 3:15! Bring active wear! All are welcome to attend and more info on the team schedule will be available at the practice! :)

Council
Type 1 Diabetes is the second most common chronic illness in children, behind asthma. On March 7, join us in helping fundraise for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation by participating in the HRM wide Dance-A-Thon for Diabetes. If you are interested, grab a contract from Mrs. Mullane in room 111 or ask your co-presidents. Let’s put an end to type 1 diabetes.
Acts for Aids
Out of the 34 million HIV-positive people worldwide, 69% live in sub-Saharan Africa. There are roughly 23.8 million infected persons in all of Africa. Tuesday, February 12 Citadel High School will be hosting an HRM wide talent show called Acts for Aids. Tickets are $5 and proceeds will be going to the Stephen Lewis Foundation to help eradicate AIDS in Africa. You can get your ticket from Mrs Mullane in room 111.
Costa Rica
This is a reminder to all interested Costa Rican 2020 travelers that there will be a mandatory parent meeting Tuesday evening, February 12th at 6:15 pm.
Grad Photos
The photographer will be back Feb 14 and 15 to finish off the grads that did not have their pictures done in Dec. The sitting fee is $10 and the group sitting fee is $5 per person.
The first set of grad photos have arrived at the school. Please pick them up in the main office.
