Dance
Hey Justice! Hey Maddie! Did you know our only dance this year is coming up? No way! Yes girl! Our ONLY dance this year will be Thursday, September 19th from 7-10pm. Maddie how much does this dance cost? Well thats a good question. It's $8 a ticket, or $10 at the door! Tickets will be sold by Council Members or Mrs Mullane in room 111. Come out to Bright Night and bring a friend!
Football
The football team opened the season with a loss to CPA last night. Brayden Zinck-Midy contributed 2 sacks on the defensive side of the ball while Chris Sowinski stepped up and had a strong game at centre.
Be sure to come out and support your Kingfishers at the Community Bowl next Saturday when Sackville High takes on Lockview at 2 pm at Met Field.
Guidance
Potential graduates are you interested in scholarships? Then you need to check the Guidance website and look at the scholarship board outside Guidance.
Choir
Are you interested in singing? Do you love making music with others? Ms. Kay will be holding an information session regarding choir on Friday at lunch in the band room, across from the Gym. Anyone and everyone is welcome to come to the information session. Extra curricular music will begin next week, with Concert Band beginning Monday after school.
Athletics
ALL student-athletes participation on any team must complete their contact/ med form online. This must be completed before competition. Please go online to Athletics on the SHS site to complete form.
ASSW
September 30th is Orange T-Shirt Day for honoring the Aboriginal students who attended the Indian Residential Schools throughout Canada. Students can purchase a T-shirt for $10.00 from Ms. Meuse, the Mi'kmaq Indigenous Student Support Worker - Room 229A, across from the library. Proceeds to go to the SHS Indigenous Program. To All Aboriginal Students: If you know you have Aboriginal ancestry in your family line, please stop by to see Ms. Meuse anytime. There are no obligations other than to meet and greet. Ms. Meuse is in Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
Student Council
Attention all grade 9s and 10s, the Grade 9/10 Olympics are coming up! Sept 17-20th in the gym at lunch! Sign up in the lobby with a team of 6 and 2 leaders for your chance to win a wonderful prize.. The theme this year is COLOURS! Can't wait to see you all compete!
Hey kingfishers! Do you have a song you'd like to hear between classes? Come down to the main office to request a song and maybe you'll hear yours! Do you want to make someone’s day? Drop their name off in the blue "be kind to" box in the office as well!
I bet you're all wondering how these announcements we're reading off get submitted! Well it’s easy ! Maddie tell them how easy it is! Well all you need to do is go onto the Sackville high website and find the big "submit announcement" button, type in your email, what you want announced, the number of days you want it to be repeated!
