Nov 8th is Indigenous Veterans Day!
We have a separate day for Indigenous Veterans because despite fighting "for Canada" in both world wars and other armed conflicts, Indigenous people weren't considered voting-Canadian Citizens until 1960, meaning not only did they fight for Nation that didn't fight for them, they were fighting for a Nation they "didn't belong to" in the first place.
