Sackville High School Newsletter
Good Evening Sackville High Students, Parents, and Guardians,
We hope that all students had a great March break and are getting ready for the final three months of the school year. It’s hard to believe that next week is April, and we are entering the last stretch of the 2024-2025 school year. The school administration team wants to thank students, parents, and guardians for your continued support in making these last three months enjoyable and productive for everyone.
Important Reminders
We ask parents and guardians to review the cell phone directive with their students and discuss the importance of maintaining a safe and inclusive environment in the washrooms.
We are noticing an increasing number of students gathering in washrooms, sitting on floors and toilet seats while eating and socializing. This is not a sanitary practice and does not ensure a safe and inclusive space for all students. Additionally, we have concerns about vaping in washrooms, which is a violation of the regional Code of Conduct and a safety concern. Furthermore, the use of cell phones in washrooms is strictly prohibited under the Provincial Cell Phone Directive to protect the security and privacy of students and staff.
Another concern is the use of scented perfumes and body sprays in the washrooms. Sackville High is a scent-aware school, and many students and staff have allergies or sensitivities to these products, some requiring medical attention.
Staff will be reviewing the Cell Phone Directive and discussing these washroom concerns with students during the first block on Monday morning. We appreciate the cooperation of parents and guardians in reinforcing these expectations to ensure Sackville High remains a safe and inclusive environment for all.
PowerSchool Updates
Teachers have updated student grades in PowerSchool as of Friday, March 28th. We encourage students, parents, and guardians to check PowerSchool regularly. If you have any questions, please reach out to the respective teacher.
