Hello Kingfisher Student and Families,

Mi’kmaq History Month & Treaty Day

October is Mi’kmaq History Month in Nova Scotia! It’s a time to learn about and celebrate Mi’kmaq culture, history, and traditions.

The month begins with Treaty Day on October 1st, which reminds us of the Peace and Friendship Treaties made between the Mi’kmaq people and the Crown. These treaties are still important today and focus on living together with respect and understanding.

All month long, we are encouraged to learn, share, and take part in activities that help us better understand Mi’kmaq history and the important role it plays in our province.

Cafeteria Update

We’re excited to share that the school cafeteria will be reopening on Thursday, October 2nd! A temporary solution has been put in place so that students can once again enjoy cafeteria services while permanent repairs are being completed.

We appreciate the patience and understanding of students and families as we worked through these repairs.

PowerSchool Updated

Teachers have updated PowerSchool with subject information. Parents, guardians, and students are encouraged to check PowerSchool to see progress in each subject.

If you have any questions, please reach out to the subject teacher directly.
