Good Evening Kingfisher Students and Families,
We are quickly approaching the holiday break, with just two weeks left in the term. A reminder that the holiday break runs from December 22nd to January 4th, and students will return to school on January 5th.
Thank you to all parents and guardians who were able to attend our recent progress conferences. We appreciate the time and effort families put in to staying connected with their child’s learning, whether through attending in person or reaching out in other ways.
A special shout-out goes to our amazing Student Council for their hard work in setting up and taking down the event, guiding families to teacher locations, and managing the sale of school clothing. Their efforts contributed to a smooth and successful evening, and the clothing sale was a great success.
Thank you for your continued support, and we wish everyone a wonderful lead-up to the holiday season!
Message from Europe Trip Committee 2027
Dear Parents/Guardians,
We are excited to announce that Sackville High School will be embarking on a trip to Europe in 2027! We will be heading to Amsterdam, Brussels, and Paris. At this time, it cannot be confirmed whether a 2028 trip will be offered at Sackville High.
Next week, students will attend an information session about Exploring Amsterdam and Paris. Interested students will meet with Mr. LeBlanc and Mr. Crowe on Thursday, December 11th at 11:30 in room 319 to review all the basics and answer any questions your travelers might have about this exciting trip.
After that initial meeting with students, we will invite parents/guardians of interested students to an information meeting to learn more about this incredible opportunity. All your questions about costs, insurance, itinerary, chaperones, accommodations, food, and more will be answered.
Meeting Details:
- Date: Monday, December 15th, 2025
- Time: 6:00 PM
- Location: School Cafeteria
- Duration: Approximately one hour
Our travel partner, EF will be offering a $250 discount if a student enrolls within fourteen days of the parent meeting.
We hope to see many of you at the meeting and look forward to making this dream trip a reality for our students. If you have any questions please email NCrowe@hrce.ca or LeBlancK@hrce.ca
Sincerely,
The Europe Trip Committee

Library Renovation Project
Over the past year, SHS administration, staff, parents, and students have been working together on an exciting vision for a refreshed and modernized school library. Because this project is completely funded through community support, donations play an essential role in making this transformation a reality.
We are pleased to share that Phase One, the creation of a new podcast and radio room, is nearly complete. Soon, students will be able to use this space to deliver announcements, promote school activities, and explore media production, while teachers integrate these tools into their instructional practices.
As we look ahead to Phase Two, additional funding is needed to update the circulation desk and create new student computer workstations. These upgrades will ensure that our library is a more functional, inclusive, and accessible space for all students.
If you, or someone you know, would be interested in supporting this project, donations can be made by contacting shs@hrce.ca or through the donation link provided. All contributions are eligible for an HRCE tax receipt.
We deeply appreciate your continued support as we work together to enhance learning opportunities for our students.
