Below are some important reminders and information for the upcoming days and weeks.
Curriculum Night – Thursday, September 24th
We are excited to welcome parents and guardians to Curriculum Night on Thursday, September 24th from 5:30–7:00pm here at Sackville High! This is a wonderful opportunity to meet teachers and hear about the curriculum and academic content of your child’s courses.
Please note that Curriculum Night is focused on curriculum and programming. If you wish to discuss your child’s individual progress, we kindly ask that you reach out to teachers directly to arrange a separate meeting time and date. Teachers will be happy to connect with you.
Evening Schedule (Monday Rotation):
To help you make the most of the evening, please bring your student’s schedule (A, B, C, D blocks, subject, room number, and teacher’s name). Schedules can be accessed through PowerSchool. Student Council members will also be available throughout the school to help families find their way.
As an added support, teachers will be emailing a copy of their curriculum outlines to families on Wednesday, September 23rd, giving you a chance to review them before the evening.

Professional Development Day – No School for Students
Please be reminded that Friday, September 25th is a Professional Development Day. Teachers and staff will be participating in professional learning throughout the day; therefore, there will be no school for students.
Orange Shirt Day – September 29th
Orange Shirt Day is a day where we encourage everyone to wear orange in honor of the survivors and victims of residential schools. The story of the Orange Shirt comes from Phyllis Webstad, who at six years old, had her brand-new orange shirt stolen from her on her first day at residential school. This movement has created allies across Canada, and the act of wearing an Orange Shirt shows our support for Indigenous peoples on this day. At Sackville High School, we will be wearing orange on Tuesday, September 29th, in honour of residential school survivors and to demonstrate a collective belief that every child matters.
Terry Fox School Run
It’s Terry Fox School Run time! Sackville High School will be hosting our annual Terry Fox School Run on Friday, October 2nd, from 12:30–3:00 p.m. on the back field.
Students who would like to participate can pick up a consent form from the table in the main lobby or from the Main Office during lunchtime. A $5 donation is required to participate, with all funds raised supporting the Terry Fox Foundation and continuing Terry’s dream of a world without cancer.
We encourage our Kingfishers to get involved, come together as a school community, and help make a difference!

Student Fees
Student fees for the 2026-27 school year will be $25.00 and can be paid online or in the main office with cash. Through SchoolCash you will receive an email notification when your child is attached to an item. It would be helpful to create an account at www.schoolcashonline.ca
All student fees go directly towards students and student activities.

School Photo Retakes
School photo retakes will take place on Tuesday, October 6th. This will be the final opportunity for students to have their school photo taken this year.
Photographers will begin first thing in the morning and will only be at the school for a portion of the morning. Students requiring a retake or who missed the original photo day should ensure they are at school and ready to have their photo taken that morning.
Please remember that photo retakes are available for one day only, so we encourage students who require a photo to take advantage of this final opportunity.
